Australia Denies Chris Brown Entry Due to History of Domestic Violence

Chris Brown will not be able to enter Australia due to his history of domestic violence.

The 26-year-old entertainer was set to go to Australia and bring his One Hell Of A Nite Tour with him but was denied entry when his VISA application wasn’t accepted. Immigration minister Peter Dutton says he denied the singer’s application due to “character grounds.” Brown has 28 days to appeal but his chances of a successful appeal are slim to none.

“People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you,” Michaela Cash, the newly appointed women’s minister, tells The Guardian. “‘You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia,’ and certainly, without pre-empting the decision of the minister, I can assure you it is something that the minister is looking at.”

Boxer Floyd Mayweather was also denied entry to the country earlier this year also because of his history with domestic violence.
