N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton” Goes Certified Platinum

Following its successful biopic of the same name, N.W.A.’s Straight Outta Compton has sold over three million units, making it certified triple platinum.
Released in 1988, Straight Outta Compton drew attention for its lyrical rawness and aggression with songs like “Fuck The Police,” the album’s lead single. Following the release of its accompanying biopic over 20 years later, the album peaked again at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart in August.
Congrats to N.W.A., who have built an expansive career over the past two decades. Salute!
